I have been working as an independent artist for more than 40 years. During that time, I've had the pleasure of creating a lot of art in a variety of styles. My portfolio includes personal art, public art, and commercial commissions.
My public art has been commissioned by some prestigious clients: The National Air and Space Museum, National Wildlife Federation, Fairfax County, National Museum of Women in the Arts, and Manassas Ballet Theatre to name a few.
Some of the themes that run through my personal work include: impermanence, change through growth and decay, and the transient aspect of our lives and the world around us. Our planet is in perpetual motion and nothing remains fixed or static. The affect that humans are having on the environment is profound, and, at this time, I am feeling a particular urgency to focus on the textures and tactile expressions of nature. Our residence on earth is temporary, but we do have a responsibility to hand it over to the next generation in good order. I am intrigued by the way future generations will view us: :) or :( ??? .... It's up to us to make better decisions going forward.
